We look at ourselves as helping the spread of those ideas those tender leaves. The story behind it November, 2009: Harish went to a book exhibition along with his friend J Ramanand. JR knew Harishs penchant for books on India and recommended In Spite of the Gods: The Strange rise of Modern India and three other books. Although the books were a tad expensive, he bought them because he trusted JRs recommendations. When Harish got home, he wondered where to keep those 4 books the shelves were full. Thats when he started thinking "Why do I need to buy every book that I want to read? Why should libraries be associated with late fees and parking problems? And who can help me choose books Id love to read? There has to be a better, simpler, way to read books that is both convenient and fun." Thats how the idea of Tender Leaves came about. A better way to read Tender Leaves members dont have to worry about storing books after reading, due dates, late fees, or the price of their books. Their big worry is to find their favourite chair to sit on and then simply enjoy reading. Tender Leaves has an ever-growing collection of titles in multiple languages. All you have to do is: Add titles to your wishlist. We deliver your books to your office/door-step. When youre done reading, drop the books (at least 2 books at a time) into our drop-box or have our clearing agents pick them up. When we receive your returns, the selections in your wishlist will automatically be shipped. Spread the joy Books have brought a great deal of joy to our lives. We are grateful about it. Sadly, there are many underprivileged children who do not get a chance to experience that joy. By contributing to non-profits working in the area of education, we are trying to spread the joy of reading among as many children as we can. Of course, the very nature of a library means that we are doing our bit for conserving our natural resources. Founding Team Technology - Sudarshan Purohit - For 14 years Sudarshan had been working in software companies like Persistent Systems and Intuit while dreaming about pursuing his passion for books. His belief that Indian writing doesn't get its due in the large book-stores in Metros led him to start translating landmark pulp fiction novels in Hindi by Surender Mohan Pathak into English. Now it all comes together for him with all his software skills being directed towards his passion for reading! Sudarshan is the Director, Technology. Business - B V Harish Kumar A Metallurgical engineer turned MBA who loved his cricket, films and quizzing.Harish has worked for 6 years in CRM Consulting and Marketing. He believes customers in India are short changed and customer = '???? ?? ??' and aims to fix it. Harish is the CEO and is responsible for Enchanting Customers. We are looking at expansion into offline reading clubs for young readers. Day-care centres and pre-schools will be the perfect locations to start these reading clubs.
