A New Way to Learn English
An Exciting New Way to Learn English
Research has proved that the period between the ages of 3 and 11 years old is the optimum time for children to pick up a second language and that later it becomes much more of a daunting task with far less of a result. Ask any parent or primary school teacher and they will tell you the same thing – younger children simply find it easier to pick up a second language because they are still learning all the time in a way which adults don’t.
LCF has been teaching children around the world to speak a second language since their inception in 1985. Based in the UK they run after-schools clubs teaching over 50,000 children to speak French and Spanish every year but they also have language centres across mainland Europe and even in South America where they teach local children to speak English.
The focus in the clubs is learning through fun activities such as singing, play, cooking and drama which makes it a lot more interesting for the children but also means the learning is associated with everyday activities making it easier to retain than the standard rote learning which takes place in school.
Now children will be helped in the classroom by LCF’s specially designed website EnglishZone which will help children to learn more about reading and pronouncing the English language through downloadable worksheets, games and songs to help engage children to learn in a fun and interesting way.
LCF Englishzone is accessible from the web directly onto whiteboards or computers. Teachers can use the curriculum resources which have been designed around the European Common Framework for Languages. An integral part of the site is a dedicated Phonics section. There are also mini-tests to check progress.
Non-specialist teachers find Englishzone particularly useful with it's abundant use of graphics and sound.
From Clubs to Classroom, traditional methods to innovative web-based resources LCF leads in the important child development years for learning English.
