Best Cloud Kitchen Franchises in India: 2027 Investment Guide

Short answer: If you want a cloud kitchen franchise in India that you can actually apply for today, four brands publish a clear route on their own websites:

Yummy Cloud |

Rebel Foods, Behrouz Biryani and Biryani By Kilo are the names everyone asks about. We couldn't find clear franchise terms for any of them on their official sites, so they get their own section further down.
Every number below comes from the brand itself unless we say otherwise. None of it is audited.
Quick facts before you read on
- Published entry costs run from ₹1.9 lakh to roughly ₹20 lakh.
- Swiggy and Zomato take 15–30% in commission. After GST and other charges, many kitchens lose 25–35% of each order.
- Profit and payback figures on franchise websites are claims. Treat them that way.
- If you won't be in the kitchen yourself (FOCO or FOPO), your income depends on one contract. Get it read by a lawyer.
How we picked the brands
We only kept a brand if its own website invites franchise or partner enquiries and gives us numbers we can quote. Listing sites and broker pages didn't count as proof. We checked everything in October 2026.
Four brands passed. Rebel Foods, Behrouz and Biryani By Kilo didn't, but you'll probably hear their names from a broker sooner or later, so we've written up what's known.
Is a cloud kitchen still a good bet in 2027?
Mostly yes, with a catch. The catch is the apps.

What we found |
|
Market size |
IMARC Group puts India's cloud kitchen market at about USD 1.24 billion in 2025 and USD 3.69 billion by 2034 |
|
Margins |
Petpooja says well-run cloud kitchens make 15–35%, against 5–15% for regular restaurants |
|
Commissions |
In July 2026, over 1,000 Bengaluru restaurants threatened to leave the apps over fees |
|
Licences |
FSSAI changed its turnover slabs on 1 April 2026. Sources don't agree on the exact limits, so check on FoSCoS |
The model works when the franchisor actually brings you orders or lowers your costs. If all you get is a brand name and a menu, you're paying for something you could build yourself.

FOFO means you own and run it. FOCO means you own it and the company runs it. FOPO means you own it and a partner runs it. FOSM is the brand's own term, so ask them what it covers.
Costs the franchise fee doesn't cover
The quoted number is rarely the whole bill. Ask each brand to price these in writing.

Keep a buffer of 25–30% on top of the quoted amount. Most kitchens need it.
Kouzina
Kouzina runs multi-brand kitchens out of Bengaluru. Its homepage says 356+ kitchens across 90+ cities. Franchise India reported in May 2026 that it was aiming for ₹200 crore in FY27, up from a projected ₹115 crore in FY26.

What we liked is a page called Network Performance. As of 30 June 2026 it shows:
- 298 active kitchens
- 75% of kitchens ever opened are still running, so about one in four has closed
- About 5% of exits were Kouzina ending the agreement
- 75–80% of revenue comes from kitchens older than 12 months
Very few franchisors share closure figures at all. It's still self-reported, and a 25% closure rate is something to weigh, not skip past.
Two things to ask them: why the page says 298 kitchens when the homepage says 356+, and what the royalty is, since the franchise page doesn't mention one.
The Rolling Plate
A Delhi franchisor with three ways in. The low end is cheap enough to try without risking much.
|

Cost (+ GST) |
What the brand says |
|
FOFO |
₹1.9 lakh |
You prepare ready-to-eat North Indian dishes from their recipes |
|
FOCO |
₹2.9 lakh |
Company runs the kitchen, you get 19% of monthly sales |
|
FOPO |
₹12 lakh |
A kitchen partner runs it, returns can begin in about 6 months |
You get access to 20+ food brands on all three.
The 19% is the number to question. Ask whether it's worked out before or after app commissions and discounts, because the gap between those two can be huge. Also ask who pays for ads and food cost, and what you get back if you leave. The site shows testimonials but no kitchen count, so ask for one.
SaladO
Based in Nashik, selling salads, bowls and healthy desserts. Its franchise page lists 82+ cloud kitchens.
- Premium package: ₹2.36 lakh
- Royalty: 2%
- Includes recipes, FSSAI help, SOPs, billing software and 30 days of marketing
A second SaladO page quotes ₹4–6 lakh for setup, 30–50% margins and break-even in 12–16 months. We'd ask which price is right and get it in writing. We'd also be careful with 30–50% margins, since the best-run kitchens are said to land between 15% and 35%.
Yummy Cloud
Run by Foyano Rolls Pvt. Ltd. It's the cheapest multi-brand route we found.
|
What Yummy Cloud says |

About ₹5 lakh |

A brand with no royalty still has to make money somewhere, often on supplies or packaging. Ask for the list of things you must buy from them. Their site also pushes bigger food-court formats, and third-party listings quote higher costs and a royalty for those, so check which one your quote covers. The network is newer, and there's less public history to go on.
Rebel Foods, Behrouz and Biryani By Kilo
These are strong businesses. What we couldn't find is a franchise offer on their own websites that an investor can read.

What each of these means in practice:
- Rebel Foods. Launcher lets outside food brands use Rebel's kitchens and supply chain. That's a partnership, not a franchise you buy. The Oven Story push is for 250–300 pizza stores in smaller cities, which aren't cloud kitchens. One Petpooja summary says Rebel publishes open terms for Faasos and Behrouz, but we couldn't confirm it.
- Behrouz. Franchise India said in May 2025 that it wasn't offering a Behrouz franchise. The ₹25–40 lakh figure is an outside estimate.
- Biryani By Kilo. Devyani agreed to buy a majority stake in April 2025, and Petpooja reports it was a wholly owned subsidiary by February 2026. We found no franchise page on its own site.
If a broker quotes you a price for any of these, ask to see the franchise agreement and disclosure document before anything else. Better still, contact the company yourself.

Mistakes first-time investors make
- Choosing on price alone. A ₹1.9 lakh entry can still need several lakh in working capital.
- Believing the payback line. "8–14 months" assumes steady orders from day one. New kitchens usually spend a few months building ratings.
- Not calling existing partners. Testimonials on a website are picked. Ask for a phone number and call.
- Skipping the local check. Look at how many orders your delivery area actually generates before you sign a rental.
- Starting with too many brands. More menus mean more stock and more waste. Begin with the best sellers.
Checklist before you pay
- Agreement and full fee list in writing, including anything you must buy from them
- Calls with three current partners, one of them over a year old
- Real profit and loss figures from a city like yours
- Territory and exclusivity confirmed
- Exit terms: transfer, penalty, deposit refund
- Royalty defined: percent of what, on which orders, paid when
- Licences checked: FSSAI, GST, trade, fire
- A test order from a live kitchen
- Your numbers rerun with higher commissions and sales 30% below plan
- Kitchen counts and survival figures confirmed independently

FAQs
Which is the best cloud kitchen franchise in India for 2027?
There isn't one winner. Kouzina has the most documented network, The Rolling Plate and SaladO cost less to start, and Yummy Cloud advertises about ₹5 lakh.
Can I buy a Rebel Foods, Behrouz or Biryani By Kilo franchise?
We couldn't confirm current franchise terms for any of them on their official sites. Rebel runs a partner platform, Behrouz shows no franchise page, and BBK reportedly doesn't franchise. Ask each company directly.
How much does a cloud kitchen franchise cost in India?
Among brands with a published route, from ₹1.9 lakh + GST up to about ₹15–20 lakh. Ask for the full figure including equipment, deposits, stock and working capital.
Is a cloud kitchen franchise profitable?
It can be. Well-run kitchens are said to make 15–35%. Anything higher needs proof.
What licences do I need?
An FSSAI registration or licence, GST where it applies, and local trade and fire approvals if your area requires them.
Where to go from here
Pick two brands, ask for the agreement and partner P&Ls, run the numbers with sales lower than they promise, and eat from a live kitchen before you pay anything.
